About us

The goals of the “National Democrats” are to promote the state, national and patriotic self-awareness of society, defend the interests of the Latvian state, Latvian nation and statehood, support the patriotic upbringing of young people to help them develop as patriotic and national-minded people, get involved and organize public events with the aim of drawing public attention to various state and national issues, fight against the consequences of occupation and Soviet colonialism, as well as various historical untruths that distort Latvian history and culture.

Our values are:

Responsibility. It is the ground principle of our work. Every member is responsible for his/her actions, decisions and consequences. Every member is responsible in front of Latvia and the nation – Latvians. We don’t claw resources in our pockets – we manage them effectively to ensure our maximum contribution to the work for the benefit of Latvia.

National state. We are proud of our country, our national, Latvian, European identity, and we work actively to achieve our goals. We believe that the only way to create a truly united state nation in Latvia is through the values defined in our Constitution. It is said in the preamble – “Loyalty to Latvia, the Latvian language as the only official language, freedom, equality, solidarity, justice, honesty, work ethic and family are the foundations of a cohesive society.”

Democracy. It is irreplaceable. Our organization’s structure is based on democratic principles, allowing every member to take part in the decision-making process – contributing not only to the organization, but also Latvia. Our aim is to get involved and organize public events with the aim of drawing public attention to various state and national issues, as well as encourage state institutions and officials to concrete action – that, sadly, only follows after noise on social media or on the streets.

Honesty and justice. We respect equal treatment, justice, and fairness towards every person. Every member acts fairly and honestly towards other members and the society, self-critically and honestly admits and corrects his mistakes, observing a high legal and moral awareness. The history and culture of Latvia is still distorted by various historical untruths and the specter of Soviet colonialism. This is not acceptable to us, that is why the goal is to fight against the consequences of the occupation, the Russian Empire and Soviet colonialism, both in public space, in people's thinking, and in state administration. In terms of historical justice, we fully support the de-Russification and decolonization of Latvia.

Loyalty. We are loyal to the country of Latvia and the Latvian people. We actively support and organize various activities, events, initiatives, etc., which contribute to the achievement of the common goals of the organization and strengthen Latvian unity, Latvian sovereignty, national security, and democracy. Patriotism and love for Latvia starts in the family. That is why we strive to support patriotic education, so that young people can develop as patriotic and national-minded people, not a grey mass. So that every young person realizes his place as a responsible, just, and loyal citizen, as a Latvian in the country.

Latvia and “Latvianness”. Every member of our organization is a patriot of the Republic of Latvia. We respect Latvia as an independent and democratic country, respect its Constitution and laws. Latvian is the one and only possible national state language; we work for its protection and improvement both inside and outside the organization. We promote Latvian culture, Latvianness, democracy and patriotism.

These values are the core of the “National Democrats”.
They serve as a driving force for our common efforts to build a strong, educated, responsible, national, patriotic Latvia and the Latvian nation.
