History

  • During spring 2022, the main subject in our everyday lives was the war in Ukraine. Almost every day we went to protest at the Russian embassy in Riga to make our stance against the war crimes and the invasion itself commited by the Russian army. The invasion marked all of 2022 for us.

  • On April 15, 2022 we organized a protest action, reminding the Russian “diplomats” about their country’s crimes until 10 p.m.

  • Our organization was oficially registered on May 10, 2022. We received this message in the morning – when it was not yet clear how the day will unfold. That day, adepts of the rashism ideology gathered at the occupation monument in Pardaugava – to, as they said, “lay flowers to commomerate their ancestors”, but in reality – to glorify Russia, its army and crimes.

  • Next day – May 11 – we published a call to action on social media; we invited people to whom nor the inaction of police, nor the permissiveness of Russians, nor the inability of the city council and Saeima to demolish the monument is unacceptable to gather unoficially with posters and music at the monument to express their position.

  • On May 13, continuing to gather a larger number of supporters, we went to the City Hall Square with Latvian and Ukrainian flags to stand against the illegal meeting of Russians – who wanted to protest against the demolition of the monument. That day went down in history as the day the city hall decided to demolish the occupier memorial.

  • On May 20, we went on a march with thousands of other Latvians to demand the government to get rid of Soviet heritage.

  • On September, we joined a protest action opposite the German Embassy in Riga – we asked that Germany fulfills the promises to deliver weapons to Ukraine. We also joined the action organized by National Union “Taisnīgums” to demand an immediate closure of the Latvian-Russian border.

  • In December 2022, our representatives visited the capital city of Ukraine – Kyiv.

  • On March 16, 2023, the day when Latvia usually honors its’ legionnaires, we laid flowers at the Freedom Monument and organized a flashmob opposite the Russian embassy, creating a drawing, a text reading “Children” in Russian – to remind about the bombing of the Mariupol Drama Theatre a year ago.

  • In spring – March, April and May 2023, we fought for and achieved the demolition of the illegally built Pushkin monument in Riga city centre.

  • On September 1, 2023, we organized a protest action opposite the building of the Ministry for Internal Affairs in Riga to condemn and protest against the government agreement of August 22 which anticipated giving Russian citizens in Latvia two more years to learn the Latvian language.

  • On February 24, 2024, we organized our largest protest action so far opposite the Russian embassy to mark the second anniversary of the full-scale war, and to remind both Russia about its’ war crimes and the Latvian society – that the war is not over and continues.

  • On March 17, 2024, we organized a flashmob opposite the Russian embassy to protest against the sham presidential “elections” in Russia.

  • On May 9, 2024, we carried out "REPORT" - an action within the framework of which every resident of Latvia had the opportunity to report publicly observed police inaction, glorification of Russia or the USSR, rashist activities or anything else suspicious that was noticed on May 9 - the day when many celebrate the occupation of Latvia.

  • On May 17, 2024, we organized a protest action in front of the office of the Council of Public Electronic Media in order to protest against the immoral behavior of SEPLP - organizing LTV debates in Russian - which encourages Russian terrorists to set new political goals in Latvia.

  • On May 21, 2024, we carried out a flashmob in front of the LTV (Latvian Television) building, supporting the representatives of the creative intelligence, who at that time went to talks with the LTV management, as well as once again expressing our steadfast position - a firm NO to debates in Russian in the Republic of Latvia.
